Most of the modern Ethernet devices are supporting auto-negotiation. If not, you need a cross-over Ethernet cable instead of a standard patch cable.
In order to "see" each other, the devices has to be configured within the same IP address range:
  1. Set the IP address of the Ethernet device e.g. LYNX controller - R CT 5023 to e.g.:
    1. IP address: 192.168.1.120
    2. Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    3. Gateway: 192.168.1.1
  2. Usually your PC / Notebook is set to automatically receive an IP address (DHCP).
  3. This has to be changed to a static IP address > right-click on the network connection icon down-right in the task bar.

  4. Open the Network settings.
  5. Click on the Ethernet connection.

  6. In the opened dialog click on properties > and double-click on TCP/IP 4 > set the IP address to e.g.:
    1. IP address: 192.168.1.101
    2. Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    3. Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Both devices are now in the same IP address range and can be connected to each other (e.g. by using the APPolo Control GUI > Connection Manager).
